Shelter Outreach Plus (Monterey County)

Brief Description: 
Outreach, emergency and transitional housing, and supportive services for homeless and victims of domestic violence.
Summary: 

Two emergency shelters are maintained, one in Seaside and the other in Salinas, that offer housing for women and children for 30 and 60 day programs. There is an interfaith emergency lodging program for the homeless, operated cooperatively with other organizations. There are longer term transitional living programs for men, women and children that provide a community living setting for learning to have an independent, productive, and violence-free life. Support for education and employment is provided.

There is a Domestic Violence Service Center that offers legal advocacy and court accompaniment to those seeking restraining orders as a result of domestic violence.
