Provides extensive resources for homeless in Santa Cruz and Davenport. Includes job training and shelter services.

The Community Action Board of Santa Cruz County manages seven programs that assist low-income residents to move out of poverty focusing on four service areas: Job Training and Employment Services, Housing and Homeless Services, Immigration Assistance, and Community Building. The Shelter Program operates the Housing for Medical Emergencies Program (motel vouchers), Emergency Rent/Mortgage Assistance to avoid eviction, Shelter Hotline and The Message Center (voice mail for homeless people). The Community Restoration program provides opportunities for juvenile and adult offenders. The Women's Venture Project conducts training sessions in non-traditional careers for women, focused on construction, public works/maintenance and green jobs, throughout the year. Gemma provides reentry services for women after incarceration. The Santa Cruz Community Immigration Project (SCCIP) provides immigration legal services. CalWORKs Emergency Payment Program offers assistance to active CalWORKs participants, and retention participants. It also operates the Davenport Resource Center.
